Undocumented immigrants often fear losing control over their destiny during encounters with law enforcement. As a result, immigration lawyers and advocacy groups emphasize the importance of preparedness. In collaboration with United We Dream and Univision, we developed Notifica, an app that allows individuals to send pre-written texts to notify contacts, enabling the quick activation of emergency plans if they are detained. Notifica then erases users' contact information to prevent it from being used against them or their families.
